New York Republicans are calling for the death sentence to be reinstated in response to the mass shooting that took place in Buffalo on May 14. The Daily Caller News Foundation announced on May 16 that Democratic Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has agreed to drop her race-based interview policy. Lightfoot had announced in 2021 that she would only have one-on-one interviews exclusively with non-white reporters.
