US to Expand Training of Taiwanese Forces

More U.S. troops are in Taiwan as the island continues to face an ever more aggressive communist neighbor. The United States is planning on increasing the number of troops from the current 30 up to about 200. Taiwan’s president is welcoming the move. China, meanwhile, is accusing the United States of undermining peace and stability in the region. The Pentagon maintains the move would help Taiwan defend itself in the event of a Chinese invasion.
