Commentary The expansive military build-up of Russian troops taking place on the Ukrainian border and the naval and air force intrusions in the waters and skies of Taiwan are not bluffs. The accelerating military technologies being pursued by Russia and China in hypersonic missile technology present an existential threat to the independence of Ukraine and Taiwan and the survival of tens of millions of lives of their citizens.
