Coca-Cola, Airbnb, Procter & Gamble, and Visa—U.S. sponsors for the 2022 Beijing Olympics—have proudly declared that they support human rights globally. But that support became less clear when it came to responding to the Chinese regime’s gross rights violations. At a July 27 congressional hearing on corporate sponsorship of the Beijing games, representatives from the U.S.-based sponsors declined to make a stance on whether they would play a role in having the Olympic games moved to a different location or postponed over the Chinese regime’s human rights abuses.
