A woman is dead and a man injured after they were accidentally shot by a prop firearm reportedly discharged by actor Alec Baldwin on a movie set in New Mexico on Thursday. According to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, a 42-year-old woman was airlifted to a hospital and a 48-year-old man was receiving emergency care at another hospital after the incident. The woman died at the hospital. The incident took place on the movie set of “Rust.” The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office said in a satement that the victims “were shot when a prop firearm was discharged by Alex Baldwin, 68, producer and actor,” reported Variety. The deceased woman is cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, and the injured man is director Joel Souza.
